New look at the $[{\bf 70},1^-]$ nonstrange and strange baryons in the $1/N_c$ expansion
N. Matagne, Fl. Stancu

TL;DR
This paper calculates the masses of excited nonstrange and strange baryons in the $[70,1^-]$ multiplet using a refined $1/N_c$ expansion method that simplifies the operator analysis, extending previous SU(4) work to SU(6).
Contribution
It introduces a new method reducing the number of operators needed in the $1/N_c$ expansion for baryon mass calculations, extending prior SU(4) analysis to SU(6).
Findings
Masses of $[70,1^-]$ baryons calculated to order $1/N_c$.
Method significantly reduces operator complexity in mass formulas.
Extension from SU(4) to SU(6) symmetry framework.
Abstract
The masses of excited nonstrange and strange baryons belonging to the multiplet are calculated in the expansion to order with a new method which allows to considerably reduce the number of linearly independent operators entering the mass formula. This study represents an extension to SU(6) of our work on nonstrange baryons, the framework of which was SU(4).
