Studies of tau- -> eta.K-.nu and tau- -> eta.pi-.nu at BaBar and a search for a second-class current
The BaBar Collaboration, P. del Amo Sanchez, et al

TL;DR
This study measures the branching fraction of tau decays to eta and kaon or pion final states using BaBar data, providing new limits on second-class current processes in tau decays.
Contribution
The paper presents the first precise measurement of the tau to eta K decay and sets a new upper limit on the second-class current tau to eta pi decay.
Findings
Branching fraction for tau to eta K is (1.42±0.11(stat)±0.07(syst))×10⁻⁴.
Upper limit for tau to eta pi decay is <9.9×10⁻⁵ at 95% CL.
Results constrain models of second-class currents in tau decays.
Abstract
We report on analyses of tau lepton decays and , with , using 470 fb of data from the Babar experiment at PEP-II, collected at center-of-mass energies at and near the resonance. We measure the branching fraction for the decay mode, , and report a 95% confidence level upper limit for the second-class current process , .
