V.K. Magas, J. Yamagata-Sekihara, S. Hirenzaki, E. Oset, A. Ramos

TL;DR
This paper reviews whether the antikaon-nucleon optical potential is deep or shallow, analyzing experimental data and theoretical models to clarify the nature of the potential.
Contribution
It compares phenomenological fits and chiral model calculations to determine the depth of the K-nucleus optical potential.
Findings
Phenomenological fits suggest a deep potential
Chiral models indicate a shallow potential
Current experimental data remains inconclusive
Abstract
The key question of this letter is whether the K-nucleus optical potential is deep, as it is prefered by the phenomenological fits to kaonic atoms data, or shallow, as it comes out from unitary chiral model calculations. The current experimental situation is reviewed.
