TL;DR
This paper reports the detection of the 69 μm band of crystalline forsterite in Herschel data, using spectral fitting to determine grain temperature, advancing understanding of dust composition in space.
Contribution
It presents the first detection of the 69 μm forsterite band in Herschel data and estimates grain temperature through spectral analysis.
Findings
Detection of the 69 μm forsterite band in Herschel data
Determination of forsterite grain temperature
Enhanced understanding of crystalline dust in space
Abstract
In this article we present the detection of the 69 {\mu}m band of the crystalline olivine forsterite within the MESS key program of Herschel. We determine the temperature of the forsterite grains by fitting the 69 {\mu}m band.
