Chiral Fermions and the Standard Model from the Matrix Model Compactified on a Torus
Hajime Aoki

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that the IIB matrix model, when compactified on a six-dimensional torus with nontrivial topology, can produce chiral fermions and matter content resembling the Standard Model, with three generations indicated by the Dirac index.
Contribution
It introduces a novel compactification approach of the IIB matrix model on a torus to realize chiral fermions and Standard Model-like matter content.
Findings
Achieves chiral fermions from matrix model compactification.
Reproduces three generations via the Dirac index.
Provides a framework connecting matrix models to Standard Model features.
Abstract
It is shown that the IIB matrix model compactified on a six-dimensional torus with a nontrivial topology can provide chiral fermions and matter content close to the standard model on our four-dimensional spacetime. In particular, generation number three is given by the Dirac index on the torus.
