TL;DR
This paper measures the form factors and the CKM matrix element |Vcb| in B0 -> D*- l+ nu decays using Belle data, providing the most precise parameters and a model-independent form factor shape analysis.
Contribution
It presents the most precise measurements of form factor parameters and |Vcb|, including a model-independent determination of form factor shapes, using a large Belle dataset.
Findings
Measured form factor parameters with high precision
Determined |Vcb| from B0 -> D*- l+ nu decays
Performed a model-independent form factor shape analysis
Abstract
This article describes a determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element from the decay using 711 fb of Belle data collected near the resonance. We simultaneously measure the product of the form factor normalization and the matrix element as well as the three parameters , and , which determine the form factors of this decay in the framework of the Heavy Quark Effective Theory. The results, based on about 120,000 reconstructed decays, are , , and . The branching fraction of is measured at the same time; we obtain a value of $\mathcal{B}(B^0 \to…
