Instanton Corrected Non-Supersymmetric Attractors
Pramod Dominic, Prasanta K. Tripathy

TL;DR
This paper investigates how instanton corrections influence non-supersymmetric black hole attractors in Type IIA string theory, showing that such corrections can stabilize previously flat directions in the moduli space.
Contribution
It demonstrates that instanton effects can lift flat directions in non-supersymmetric attractors, providing new insights into their stability and structure in string compactifications.
Findings
Instanton corrections can stabilize non-supersymmetric attractors.
Flat directions in the mass matrix can be lifted by instanton parameters.
Analysis performed on the D0-D4 system and the STU model.
Abstract
We discuss non-supersymmetric attractors with an instanton correction in Type IIA string theory compactified on a Calabi-Yau three-fold at large volume. For a stable non-supersymmetric black hole, the attractor point must minimize the effective black hole potential. We study the supersymmetric as well as non-supersymmetric attractors for the D0-D4 system with instanton corrections. We show that in simple models, like the STU model, the flat directions of the mass matrix can be lifted by a suitable choice of the instanton parameters.
