Existence of \alpha-stable coherent systems on algebraic curves
Peter Newstead

TL;DR
This survey reviews the current state of research on the existence of stable coherent systems on algebraic curves, summarizing known results and open problems in the field.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive overview of all known existence results for stable coherent systems on algebraic curves, extending previous lecture material.
Findings
Summarizes key existence theorems for stable coherent systems.
Identifies open problems and directions for future research.
Consolidates known results from various sources.
Abstract
This survey article is a much extended version of a lecture given at a Clay Institute workshop in October 2006. It describes all known results on the existence of stable coherent systems on algebraic curves.
