On Glauber modes in Soft-Collinear Effective Theory
Christian W. Bauer, Bjorn O. Lange, Grigory Ovanesyan

TL;DR
This paper investigates the role of Glauber gluons in Soft-Collinear Effective Theory, demonstrating that these modes are essential for the theory's consistency when describing gluon interactions involving spectator partons in hadronic collisions.
Contribution
It identifies and emphasizes the necessity of including Glauber gluons in the effective theory for accurate modeling of certain gluon interactions.
Findings
Glauber gluons are essential for the consistency of the effective theory.
Spectator parton interactions require Glauber modes for accurate description.
The study clarifies the role of Glauber gluons in hadronic collision processes.
Abstract
Gluon interactions involving spectator partons in collisions at hadronic machines are investigated. We find a class of examples in which a mode, called Glauber gluons, must be introduced to the effective theory for consistency.
