Independent Attacks in Imperfect Settings; A Case for A Two Way Quantum Key Distribution Scheme
J.S. Shaari, Iskandar Bahari

TL;DR
This paper analyzes a two-way quantum key distribution protocol under imperfect conditions, demonstrating it can outperform BB84 when certain intensity ratios are met, supported by a simple toy model analysis.
Contribution
It introduces a sufficient condition based on intensity ratios for the two-way protocol to outperform BB84 under imperfect settings.
Findings
Two-way protocol can outperform BB84 with proper intensity ratios
A simple toy model effectively analyzes protocol performance
Sufficient conditions for protocol superiority are identified
Abstract
We review the study on a two way quantum key distribution protocol given imperfect settings through a simple analysis of a toy model and show that it can outperform a BB84 setup. We provide the sufficient condition for this as a ratio of optimal intensities for the protocols.
