On the fine structure constant in the Machian universe
Merab Gogberashvili, Igor Kanatchikov

TL;DR
This paper explores a Machian universe model where dark energy and matter densities are interconnected, and derives an expression for the fine structure constant based on cosmological observations and Machian principles.
Contribution
It introduces a novel Machian framework linking the fine structure constant to cosmological densities and matter components.
Findings
The fine structure constant can be expressed using observed cosmological densities.
Matter densities are interrelated through the derived expression involving the fine structure constant.
Dark energy is identified with Machian energy of collective gravitational interactions.
Abstract
Within the Machian model of the universe the dark energy is identified with the Machian energy of collective gravitational interactions of all particles inside the horizon. It is shown that the fine structure constant can be expressed in terms of the observed radiative, baryon and dark energy densities of the universe and the densities of various matter components are interrelated via it.
