Kanaka Raju Pandiri, Masayuki Katsuragawa

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates the synthesis of arbitrary optical waveforms, including rectangular and triangular pulse trains, at an ultrahigh repetition rate of over 10 THz by spectral phase manipulation of Raman sidebands.
Contribution
It introduces a method for generating ultrafast optical pulse trains with high repetition rates through spectral phase control of Raman sidebands, enabling new ultrafast optical waveform synthesis.
Findings
Stable generation of 10.6229 THz pulse trains.
Ability to produce rectangular and triangular waveforms.
Potential applications in ultrafast optics and signal processing.
Abstract
We report the synthesis of arbitrary optical waveforms by manipulating the spectral phases of Raman sidebands with a wide frequency spacing line-by-line. Trains of rectangular and triangular pulses are stably produced at an ultrahigh repetition rate of 10.6229 THz, reminiscent of an ultrafast function generator.
