F-theory inspired GUTs with extra charged matter
Jacek Pawelczyk

TL;DR
This paper explores F-theory inspired GUT models where scalar vevs turn extra matter into messengers, analyzing conditions to prevent baryon/lepton number violations, thus advancing realistic model building in string phenomenology.
Contribution
It introduces a framework for turning extra matter into messengers via scalar vevs in F-theory inspired GUTs and examines conditions to avoid dangerous baryon/lepton violations.
Findings
Extra matter can act as messengers with scalar vevs.
Conditions identified to prevent baryon/lepton number violations.
Provides guidelines for realistic F-theory GUT model construction.
Abstract
We consider GUT models inspired by recent local F-theory constructions. We show that after switching on vevs to scalars the extra matter becomes messengers. We discuss conditions on these vevs under which the models do not lead to unacceptable baryon/lepton number violating processes.
