TL;DR
This paper introduces a new, simple, and highly accurate method for calculating equilibrium properties of translationally symmetric systems, demonstrated on the 2D and 3D Ising models with less than 1% error.
Contribution
A novel, practical method for analyzing the equilibrium properties of macroscopic systems with translational symmetry, applicable to complex models like the 3D Ising model.
Findings
Accurately predicts spontaneous magnetization and specific heat with less than 1% error.
Applicable to 2D and 3D Ising models.
Provides a general approach for equilibrium property calculations.
Abstract
A simple, general and practically exact method is developed for the equilibrium properties of the macroscopic physical systems with translational symmetry. Applied to the Ising model in two and three dimension, a modest calculation gives the spontaneous magnetization and the specific heat to less than 1% error.
