A. Ciavarella, P. Bowcock

TL;DR
This paper constructs boundary giant magnons attached to a maximal Z=0 giant graviton, analyzing their properties via sine-Gordon theory and Born-Infeld theory, including finite J corrections and BIon spike solutions.
Contribution
It provides a complete set of boundary giant magnons on 2, mapping solutions from sine-Gordon theory and constructing BIon spikes for finite J.
Findings
Derived 2 boundary giant magnons from sine-Gordon solutions.
Computed 2 -J values at finite J with leading order corrections.
Constructed BIon spike solutions representing boundary magnons.
Abstract
We construct the full set of boundary giant magnons on attached to the maximal giant graviton by mapping from the general solution to static sine-Gordon theory on the interval and compute the values of at finite , including the leading order corrections when is large. We then consider the Born-Infeld theory of the giant graviton itself to construct BIon spike solutions that correspond to the world volume description of the boundary giant magnons at finite .
