Nucleon Statistics in Holographic QCD : Aharonov-Bohm Effect in a Matrix Model
Koji Hashimoto, Norihiro Iizuka

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates how the Aharonov-Bohm effect in a holographic QCD matrix model determines the fermionic or bosonic nature of nucleons depending on the number of colors, N_c.
Contribution
It reveals the connection between the Aharonov-Bohm effect and nucleon statistics in holographic QCD, providing a novel theoretical insight.
Findings
Nucleons are fermions for odd N_c.
Nucleons are bosons for even N_c.
The Aharonov-Bohm effect explains nucleon statistics.
Abstract
We show that the Aharonov-Bohm effect in the nuclear matrix model derives the statistical nature of nucleons in holographic QCD. For N_c= odd (even), the nucleon is shown to be a fermion (boson).
