TL;DR
This paper introduces new static asymptotically AdS solutions with compact extra dimensions, including solitons and black holes, which extend brane-world models and avoid naked singularities unlike traditional scenarios.
Contribution
It presents novel AdS soliton and black hole solutions with product conformal infinity, expanding brane-world models beyond Randall-Sundrum scenarios.
Findings
New regular AdS soliton solutions with compact extra dimensions.
Black hole solutions generalizing Schwarzschild black branes in AdS.
Avoidance of naked singularities in black hole brane models.
Abstract
We construct new static, asymptotically AdS solutions where the conformal infinity is the product of Minkowski spacetime and a sphere . Both globally regular, soliton-type solutions and black hole solutions are considered. The black holes can be viewed as natural AdS generalizations of the Schwarzschild black branes in Kaluza-Klein theory. The solitons provide new brane-world models with compact extra-dimensions. Different from the Randall-Sundrum single-brane scenario, a Schwarzschild black hole on the Ricci flat part of these branes does not lead to a naked singularity in the bulk.
