Ke-Jung Chen, Alexander Heger, and Ann S. Almgren

TL;DR
This paper reports on two-dimensional simulations of pair-instability supernovae, focusing on nuclear burning, hydrodynamic instabilities, and explosions of massive stars using a new radiation-hydrodynamics code.
Contribution
It introduces a novel two-dimensional simulation approach for PSN using the CASTRO code, providing insights into the explosion mechanisms of massive stars.
Findings
Identification of hydrodynamic instabilities during PSN explosions
Insights into nuclear burning processes in massive stars
Preliminary results on explosion dynamics of pair-instability supernovae
Abstract
We present preliminary results from two dimensional numerical studies of pair instability supernova (PSN). We study nuclear burning, hydrodynamic instabilities and explosion of very massive stars. Use a new radiation-hydrodynamics code, CASTRO.
