TL;DR
This paper investigates how anomalous top quark flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) interactions can be studied at the LHC by analyzing charge asymmetry in the $tW$-channel single top production, providing a new method to constrain such couplings.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach using charge asymmetry in $tW$-channel production to constrain anomalous FCNC couplings of the top quark at the LHC.
Findings
Charge asymmetry can be used to set bounds on FCNC couplings.
Constraints are estimated for 7 and 14 TeV LHC energies.
Method shows potential for probing new physics in top quark interactions.
Abstract
The potential of the LHC for investigation of anomalous top quark interactions with gluon () through the production of -channel of single top quark is studied. In the Standard Model, the single top quarks in the -channel mode are charge symmetric meaning that . However, the presence of anomalous FCNC couplings leads to charge asymmetry. In this paper a method is proposed in which this charge asymmetry may be used to constrain anomalous FCNC couplings. The strength of resulting constraints is estimated for the LHC for the center of mass energies of 7 and 14 TeV.
