The failure of Ontological Excess Baggage as a Criterion of the Ontic Approaches to Quantum Theory
Tung Ten Yong

TL;DR
This paper critically examines the concept of ontological excess baggage in quantum theory, arguing that it is not a significant obstacle to ontic interpretations once properly analyzed.
Contribution
It provides a detailed critique of Hardy's ontological excess baggage concept, demonstrating its limited relevance to ontic approaches.
Findings
The concept does not threaten ontic interpretations of quantum theory.
Proper analysis shows the idea lacks significance as a criterion.
The critique clarifies misunderstandings about ontological excess baggage.
Abstract
This article presents a discussion of the notion of quantum ontological excess baggage, first proposed by Hardy. It is argued here that this idea does not have the significance as suggested in his paper. It is shown here that if this concept is properly analyzed, it fails to pose any threat to the ontic approaches of quantum theory in general.
