A note on amphicheiral alternating links
Louis H. Kauffman, Slavik V. Jablan

TL;DR
This paper revisits the Dasbach-Hougardy counterexample to the Kauffman Conjecture on alternating knots, reformulates the conjecture, and analyzes related counterexamples to deepen understanding of their properties.
Contribution
It provides a reformulation of the Kauffman Conjecture and examines specific counterexamples, offering new insights into their structure and implications.
Findings
Reformulation of the Kauffman Conjecture for alternating knots
Analysis of Dasbach-Hougardy counterexample in the new framework
Identification of similar counterexamples supporting the reformulated conjecture
Abstract
After reconsidering the Dasbach-Hougardy counterexample to the Kauffman Conjecture on alternating knots, we reformulate the conjecture and consider Dasbach-Hougardy counterexample and similar counterexamples in the light of the reformulated conjecture.
