A.E. Sobol, R.A. Ryutin, V.A. Petrov, M. Murray

TL;DR
This paper explores the potential to measure leading neutron production at the LHC to extract $^+ p$ and $^+^+$ cross-sections, providing estimates and discussing challenges and future prospects.
Contribution
It introduces a method to determine $^+ p$ and $^+^+$ cross-sections from LHC data on leading neutron production, with preliminary estimates and analysis.
Findings
Estimates for elastic cross-sections at LHC energies.
Discussion of measurement challenges and related issues.
Prospects for future experimental measurements.
Abstract
We discuss the possibility of measuring leading neutron production at the LHC. These data could be used to extract from it and cross-sections. In this note we give some estimates for the case of elastic cross-sections and discuss related problems and prospects.
