Analytical theory of dark nonlocal solitons
Qian Kong, Q. Wang, O. Bang, and W. Krolikowski

TL;DR
This paper develops an analytical variational framework to describe dark solitons in nonlocal media across all degrees of nonlocality, providing a comprehensive theoretical understanding.
Contribution
It introduces the first variational approach to model dark solitons in nonlocal materials for any nonlocality level.
Findings
Analytical expressions for dark solitons in nonlocal media.
Validation of the variational model across the entire nonlocality range.
Insights into the influence of nonlocality on soliton properties.
Abstract
We investigate properties of dark solitons in nonlocal materials with an arbitrary degree of nonlocality. We employ the variational technique and describe the dark solitons, for the first time, in the whole range of degree of nonlocality.
