On Charmless $B\to K_h\eta^{(')}$ Decays with $K_h=K,K^*,K_0^*(1430),K_2^*(1430)$
Hai-Yang Cheng, Chun-Khiang Chua

TL;DR
This paper analyzes charmless B decays to K_h eta and eta' mesons using QCD factorization, explaining decay patterns and rates, and exploring the quark structure of K_0^*(1430).
Contribution
It provides a detailed QCD-based explanation for decay rates and patterns, and proposes using decay measurements to investigate the quark structure of K_0^*(1430).
Findings
Large B to K eta' rate explained without exotic contributions.
Interference patterns account for decay rate differences.
Decay patterns of K_0^*(1430) modes depend on its quark structure.
Abstract
We study the charmless decays and within the framework of QCD factorization (QCDF) for and naive factorization for . There are three distinct types of penguin contributions: (i) , (ii) , and (iii) , where and . decays are dominated by type-II and type-III penguin contributions. The interference, constructive for and and destructive for and , between type-II and type-III diagrams explains the pattern of and . Within QCDF, the observed large rate of the mode can be naturally explained without invoking flavor-singlet…
