TL;DR
This paper presents a precise measurement of D0-antiD0 mixing parameters using time-dependent Dalitz plot analysis of specific decay modes, utilizing extensive data from the BABAR detector to improve understanding of meson mixing.
Contribution
First-time measurement of D0 mixing parameters using D0 -> KS0 K+ K- decays with a time-dependent amplitude analysis, providing the most accurate values to date.
Findings
Measured mixing parameters: x and y with uncertainties.
First analysis of D0 -> KS0 K+ K- decays for mixing.
Results improve understanding of meson mixing mechanisms.
Abstract
We report a direct measurement of mixing parameters through a time-dependent amplitude analysis of the Dalitz plots of and, for the first time, decays. The low-momentum pion in the decay identifies the flavor of the neutral meson at its production. Using 468.5 fb of colliding-beam data recorded near ~GeV by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy collider at SLAC, we measure the mixing parameters , and . These results provide the best measurement to date of and . The knowledge of the value of , in particular, is crucial for…
