TL;DR
This paper derives kinematic limits on invariant mass distributions in complex SUSY decay chains with massive particles, aiding in background reduction for stop quark searches at the LHC.
Contribution
It introduces new kinematic bounds for invariant mass distributions in three-step decay chains involving all massive particles, applicable to SUSY particle searches.
Findings
Derived explicit kinematic limits for invariant mass distributions.
Showed potential to significantly reduce Standard Model background in stop quark detection.
Applicable to LHC SUSY searches.
Abstract
Kinematic limits on an invariant mass distribution of bc-pairs for a three-step decay chain A -> bB -> bcC involving all massive particles are found. It is shown that an application of these limits to a stop quark production at the LHC could reduce significantly Standard Model background contribution.
