Effective cavity pumping from weakly coupled quantum dots
E. del Valle, F. P. Laussy

TL;DR
This paper derives effective cavity pumping and decay rates for a quantum dot-microcavity system with multiple weakly coupled dots, revealing that photon inflow and outflow are not thermally linked.
Contribution
It introduces a new derivation of cavity rates in multi-dot systems, highlighting non-thermal relationships between photon inflow and outflow.
Findings
Photon in-flow is independent of out-flow in the system.
Derived effective rates differ from thermal equilibrium predictions.
Applicable to systems with multiple weakly coupled quantum dots.
Abstract
We derive the effective cavity pumping and decay rates for the master equation of a quantum dot-microcavity system in presence of weakly coupled dots. We show that the in-flow of photons is not linked to the out-flow by thermal equilibrium relationships.
