Comments on "Nonlinear Elastic Response in Solid Helium: Critical Velocity or Strain?"
Zotin K-H Chu

TL;DR
This paper critiques a previous study on solid helium's nonlinear elastic response, focusing on the unclosed hysteresis loop in their experimental data.
Contribution
It provides a critical analysis of the hysteresis behavior reported, highlighting potential issues in the experimental interpretation.
Findings
Hysteresis loop in Fig. 3 was not closed, indicating possible experimental inconsistencies.
Questions raised about the interpretation of critical velocity versus strain in solid helium.
Highlights the need for further investigation into elastic response mechanisms.
Abstract
We make comments on Day {\it et al.}'s [{\it Phys. Rev. Lett.} 104, 075302 (2010)] paper. Our focus is upon the hysteresis loop in Figure 3 of this paper which was not closed.
