Atom number filter in an optical lattice
Georgios M. Nikolopoulos, David Petrosyan

TL;DR
The paper introduces a method to selectively filter and transfer a specific number of bosonic atoms per site in an inhomogeneous optical lattice, enabling precise control over site occupation.
Contribution
A novel filtering procedure that isolates a chosen atom number per site in an optical lattice, improving control over atomic configurations.
Findings
Efficient filtering of atoms based on site occupation number.
Ability to transfer selected atoms into different internal states.
Potential for creating tailored atomic lattices with desired properties.
Abstract
We present an efficient procedure to filter out from an optical lattice, having inhomogeneous site occupation number, only preselected number of bosonic atoms per site and place them into another internal atomic state, creating thereby a lattice with desired site occupation number.
