Quantum codes from codes over Gaussian integers with respect to the Mannheim metric
Murat G\"uzeltepe, Mehmet \"Ozen

TL;DR
This paper constructs nonbinary quantum codes from classical Gaussian integer codes using the Mannheim metric, demonstrating some codes outperform existing ones or are comparable to the best known.
Contribution
Introduces new quantum codes derived from Gaussian integer codes with Mannheim metric, improving or matching previous code performance.
Findings
Some quantum codes outperform previous codes
Certain codes are comparable to the best known
New construction methods for quantum codes using Gaussian integers
Abstract
In this paper, some nonbinary quantum codes using classical codes over Gaussian integers are obtained. Also, some of our quantum codes are better than or comparable with those known before, (for instance [[8; 2; 5]]4+i).
