Remark on non-existence of self-similar solutions in 4+1 vacuum gravitational collapse
Piotr Bizo\'n, Arthur Wasserman

TL;DR
This paper proves that in 4+1 dimensions, vacuum Einstein equations do not admit cohomogeneity-two Bianchi IX self-similar solutions, clarifying the structure of possible solutions in higher-dimensional gravitational collapse.
Contribution
It provides a concise proof ruling out the existence of certain self-similar solutions in 4+1 vacuum gravity, extending understanding of solution space.
Findings
No cohomogeneity-two Bianchi IX self-similar solutions in 4+1 vacuum Einstein equations
Clarification of solution structure in higher-dimensional gravitational collapse
Simplified proof technique for non-existence results
Abstract
We give a very short proof that the vacuum Einstein equations in 4+1 dimensions have no cohomogeneity-two Bianchi IX continuously self-similar solutions.
