The Correlation Confocal Microscope
D.S. Simon, A.V. Sergienko

TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel confocal microscope that utilizes intensity correlations between spatially correlated light beams, resulting in significantly enhanced transverse resolution compared to traditional designs.
Contribution
The paper presents a new confocal microscopy technique based on intensity correlations, improving resolution through a novel optical configuration.
Findings
Enhanced transverse resolution demonstrated
Correlation-based imaging improves image quality
Potential for advanced microscopic applications
Abstract
A new type of confocal microscope is described which makes use of intensity correlations between spatially correlated beams of light. It is shown that this apparatus leads to significantly improved transverse resolution.
