TL;DR
This paper reports a measurement of the top-antitop quark pair production cross section in proton-antiproton collisions at 1.96 TeV, using dilepton decay channels with data from the CDF II detector, providing a precise experimental result.
Contribution
First measurement of the top pair production cross section in dilepton channel at Tevatron with detailed analysis and systematic uncertainties.
Findings
Measured cross section: 6.27 pb with uncertainties
Data sample size: 2.8 fb$^{-1}$
Consistent with Standard Model predictions
Abstract
A measurement of the production cross section in collisions at = 1.96 TeV using events with two leptons, missing transverse energy, and jets is reported. The data were collected with the CDF II Detector. The result in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity 2.8 fb is: = 6.27 0.73(stat) 0.63(syst) 0.39(lum) pb. for an assumed top mass of 175 GeV/.
