TL;DR
This paper investigates the thermal behavior of droplets during plasma spray processes, focusing on how they freeze and layer on cold substrates, with implications for thermal degradation of materials.
Contribution
It introduces a study on the thermal penetration and droplet layering during plasma spray, highlighting the effects on thermally degradable materials.
Findings
Thermal flux causes droplet freezing on cold substrates.
Layer formation affects material degradation during plasma spray.
Thermal penetration depth influences coating quality.
Abstract
During plasma spray process hot droplet of melted metal or ceramic inpinge cold target. In some processes this target should be destroyed by the thermal flux. It is why in this report the freezing and layering of the droplet on the cold substrate is studied with a special interest on the thermal penetration in the sustrate.
