Baryon resonance production in the $\pi+d$ reaction and search for $\eta$-mesic nuclei at J-PARC
H. Fujioka, K. Itahashi

TL;DR
This paper proposes a method to study $ ext{eta}$-meson interactions and searches for $ ext{eta}$-mesic nuclei using $ ext{pi} + d$ reactions at J-PARC, aiming to enhance understanding of meson-nucleon scattering and exotic nuclear states.
Contribution
It introduces a novel double-scattering reaction approach to investigate $ ext{eta}$-nucleon interactions and discusses experimental strategies for detecting $ ext{eta}$-mesic nuclei.
Findings
Proposed a new reaction measurement method for $ ext{eta}$-nucleon scattering.
Discussed experimental techniques for $ ext{eta}$-mesic nuclei search.
Provided theoretical framework for $ ext{pi} + d$ reaction analysis.
Abstract
A double-scattering reaction , where an meson is rescattered, may provide new information on the scattering. An idea to measure this reaction is proposed. Moreover, experimental search for -mesic nuclei by the same reaction is discussed.
