Large N reduction on group manifolds
Hikaru Kawai, Shinji Shimasaki, Asato Tsuchiya

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that large N reduction principles apply to field theories on group manifolds, enabling their equivalence to matrix models and providing gauge-invariant regularization methods.
Contribution
It establishes the validity of large N reduction on group manifolds and introduces gauge-invariant regularization for theories like gauge theories on S^3.
Findings
Large N reduction holds on group manifolds.
Gauge theories on S^3 can be regularized gauge-invariantly.
Matrix models can represent field theories on these manifolds.
Abstract
We show that the large N reduction holds on group manifolds. Large N field theories defined on group manifolds are equivalent to some corresponding matrix models. For instance, gauge theories on S^3 can be regularized in a gauge invariant and SO(4) invariant manner.
