Denis Parganlija, Francesco Giacosa, Dirk H. Rischke

TL;DR
This paper investigates how vector mesons influence the decay width of the f0(600) meson and pion-pion scattering within a chiral Lagrangian framework, highlighting their significant impact on these processes.
Contribution
It introduces a globally invariant chiral Lagrangian including vector mesons and analyzes their effect on meson decay widths and scattering lengths, comparing with models without these degrees of freedom.
Findings
Vector mesons significantly affect the f0(600) decay width.
Inclusion of vector mesons alters pion-pion scattering lengths.
Results demonstrate the importance of vector mesons in chiral models.
Abstract
We consider a globally invariant chiral Lagrangian that contains vector and axial-vector mesons. We compute the f0(600) decay width into two pions and pion-pion scattering lengths and compare with the corresponding results in which the (axial-)vector degrees of freedom decouple. We show that the role of vector mesons has a great impact on these quantities.
