Multi-pass classical vs. quantum strategies in lossy phase estimation
Rafal Demkowicz-Dobrzanski

TL;DR
This paper compares classical multi-pass and quantum strategies for lossy phase estimation, demonstrating that quantum methods outperform classical ones significantly under loss conditions.
Contribution
It provides a comparative analysis showing the superiority of quantum strategies over classical multi-pass methods in lossy phase estimation scenarios.
Findings
Quantum strategies outperform classical multi-pass methods under loss.
Classical approaches mimic N00N states but are less effective with losses.
Quantum techniques maintain higher precision in lossy environments.
Abstract
The use of classical multiple-pass approach for phase estimation which mimics the behavior of the N00N states, is compared with quantum techniques. It is shown that in the presence of losses its performance is significantly worse than the one of the optimal quantum strategy.
