Non-perturbative effects on seven-brane Yukawa couplings
Fernando Marchesano, Luca Martucci

TL;DR
This paper investigates how non-perturbative effects modify Yukawa couplings in seven-brane gauge theories within F-theory, addressing the Yukawa rank-one problem by providing explicit correction formulas.
Contribution
It presents explicit expressions for non-perturbative superpotential corrections and links them to non-commutative deformations via the Seiberg-Witten map, advancing understanding of Yukawa coupling modifications.
Findings
Non-perturbative corrections exponentially modify Yukawa couplings.
Corrections solve the Yukawa rank-one problem in F-theory models.
Explicit formulas relate corrections to non-commutative deformations.
Abstract
We analyze non-perturbative corrections to the superpotential of seven-brane gauge theories on type IIB and F-theory warped Calabi-Yau compactifications. We show in particular that such corrections modify the holomorphic Yukawa couplings by an exponentially suppressed contribution, generically solving the Yukawa rank-one problem present in F-theory local models. We provide explicit expressions for the non-perturbative correction to the seven-brane superpotential, and check that it is related to a non-commutative deformation to the tree-level superpotential via the Seiberg-Witten map.
