Energy Gaps in a Spacetime Crystal
L.P. Horwitz, E.Z. Engelberg

TL;DR
This paper investigates the band structure of a spacetime potential lattice formed by a standing electromagnetic wave, revealing energy band gaps and proposing an experimental measurement to confirm these phenomena.
Contribution
It introduces the concept of energy gaps in a spacetime crystal and suggests a method to observe these effects experimentally.
Findings
Existence of energy band gaps in a spacetime crystal
Estimation of the effect's magnitude
Proposal for an experimental measurement
Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of the band structure of a spacetime potential lattice created by a standing electromagnetic wave. We show that there are energy band gaps. We estimate the effect, and propose a measurement that could confirm the existence of such phenomena.
