TL;DR
This paper investigates unexplained energy changes in satellites during Earth flybys, which appear in Earth-centered frames but are not fully understood within current physics models.
Contribution
It highlights the flyby anomaly phenomenon and discusses the discrepancy between expected and observed satellite energy changes during Earth flybys.
Findings
Satellites experience unexplained energy changes during Earth flybys.
Current physics models do not fully account for the flyby anomalies.
Abstract
In a reference frame fixed to the solar system's center of mass, a satellite's energy will change as it is deflected by a planet. But a number of satellites flying by Earth have also experienced energy changes in the Earth-centered frame -- and that's a mystery.
