TL;DR
This paper investigates the connection between supersoft X-ray sources and VY Scl stars by monitoring V504 Cen and VY Scl during their state transitions using optical and X-ray observations.
Contribution
It provides new observational data on VY Scl stars during state transitions, exploring their relation to supersoft X-ray sources.
Findings
Optical monitoring captured state transitions of V504 Cen and VY Scl.
Triggered X-ray observations revealed supersoft X-ray emission during certain states.
The study suggests a link between VY Scl star behavior and supersoft X-ray phenomena.
Abstract
We summarize our optical monitoring program of VY Scl stars with the SMARTS telescopes, and triggered X-ray as well as optical observations after/during state transitions of V504 Cen and VY Scl.
