Sandipan Sengupta, Romesh K. Kaul

TL;DR
This paper develops a canonical formulation of N=1 supergravity with a topological Nieh-Yan term, analyzing constraints without gauge fixing and expressing the theory in real SU(2) variables in the time gauge.
Contribution
It introduces a gauge-independent canonical formulation of supergravity including the Nieh-Yan term and expresses it in real SU(2) variables in the time gauge.
Findings
Constraints analyzed without gauge fixing
Theory expressed in real SU(2) variables in the time gauge
Canonical formulation incorporating topological Nieh-Yan term
Abstract
A canonical formulation of the N=1 supergravity theory containing the topological Nieh-Yan term in its Lagrangian density is developed. The constraints are analysed without choosing any gauge. In the time gauge, the theory is shown to be described in terms of real SU(2) variables.
