Liouville/Toda central charges from M5-branes
Luis F. Alday, Francesco Benini, Yuji Tachikawa

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates how the central charges of Liouville and ADE Toda theories can be derived from the anomaly polynomial of six-dimensional N=(0,2) theories associated with M5-branes, linking 2D conformal field theories to M-theory.
Contribution
It provides a novel derivation of Liouville and Toda central charges from M5-brane anomaly polynomials, connecting 6D theories to 2D conformal field theories.
Findings
Central charges match between 2D theories and anomaly calculations
Establishes a geometric origin of Liouville/Toda central charges
Links M-theory branes to 2D conformal field theories
Abstract
We show that the central charge of the Liouville and ADE Toda theories can be reproduced by equivariantly integrating the anomaly eight-form of the corresponding six-dimensional N=(0,2) theories, which describe the low-energy dynamics of M5-branes.
