Markus Tiersch, Fernando de Melo, Thomas Konrad, Andreas Buchleitner

TL;DR
This paper reviews and extends an equation describing the evolution of quantum entanglement from 2x2 systems to higher dimensions, with evidence for its relevance to weakly mixed states in experiments.
Contribution
It introduces an extended entanglement evolution equation applicable to higher-dimensional systems and validates its use for weakly mixed states.
Findings
Equation applicable to higher dimensions
Statistical validation for weakly mixed states
Relevance to experimental quantum systems
Abstract
We review an evolution equation for quantum entanglement for 2x2 dimensional quantum systems, the smallest system that can exhibit entanglement, and extend it to higher dimensional systems. Furthermore, we provide statistical evidence for the equation's applicability to the experimentally relevant domain of weakly mixed states.
