Onset of magnetic monopole-antimonopole condensation
Ralf Hofmann

TL;DR
This paper investigates the critical electric coupling strength needed for magnetic monopoles and antimonopoles to Bose condense in SU(2) Yang-Mills thermodynamics, with implications for the origin of leptons and weak interactions.
Contribution
It determines the critical coupling for monopole-antimonopole Bose condensation and links this to the emergence of leptons and weak interactions from pure SU(2) gauge dynamics.
Findings
Critical electric coupling strength identified for monopole condensation
Supports the emergence of the first lepton family from SU(2) gauge theory
Results suggest weak interactions originate from pure gauge dynamics
Abstract
We determine the critical strength of the effective electric coupling for the onset of Bose condensation of stable magnetic monopoles and antimonopoles in SU(2) Yang-Mills thermodynamics. Two scenarios are considered: infinitely fast and infinitely slow downward approach of the critical temperature. Our results support the claim that the first lepton family and the weak interactions emerge from pure SU(2) gauge dynamics of scale MeV.
