TL;DR
This study uses VLA HI imaging to analyze how the environment within galaxy cluster Abell 85 affects the distribution of HI-rich and HI-deficient late-type galaxies in relation to the intra-cluster medium observed via X-ray emission.
Contribution
It provides a detailed comparison of galaxy HI content with the intra-cluster medium in Abell 85, highlighting environmental effects on galaxy gas content.
Findings
HI deficiency correlates with proximity to the cluster center.
HI-rich galaxies are more common in the outskirts.
Environmental effects influence galaxy evolution within the cluster.
Abstract
Based on a VLA HI-imaging through the total volume of the cluster Abell 85, we compare the distribution of HI-rich and HI deficient late type galaxies with the intra cluster medium (ICM) drawn by the X-ray emission.
