F. Jarai-Szabo, K. Nagy-Pora, L Nagy

TL;DR
This paper develops a semiclassical model to calculate detailed ionization cross sections of H₂ molecules, demonstrating good agreement with experiments and analyzing interference effects from the molecule's two-center structure.
Contribution
It extends a previous atomic ionization model to molecules, specifically H₂, incorporating interference effects and validating against experimental data.
Findings
Good agreement with experimental data for electron and proton projectiles.
Interference effects due to the two-center structure are observed and analyzed.
The model effectively captures the fully differential cross sections.
Abstract
Fully differential cross sections are calculated for the ionization of H by fast charged projectiles using a semiclassical model developed previously for the ionization of atoms. The method is tested in case of 4 keV electron and 6 MeV proton projectiles. The obtained results show good agreement with the available experimental data. Interference effects due to the two-center character of the target are also observed and analyzed.
