Anna Ceresole, Sergio Ferrara, Alessandra Gnecchi

TL;DR
This paper explores the relationship between U-duality groups in five and four dimensions to analyze the properties and attractor points of N=8 black holes, shedding light on their supersymmetry features.
Contribution
It introduces a method to connect U-duality groups across dimensions to study black hole potentials and their critical points in N=8 supergravity.
Findings
Characterization of black hole attractors in N=8 supergravity
Comparison of supersymmetry features of different solutions
Insights into the structure of the black hole potential
Abstract
We use the connection between the U-duality groups in d=5 and d=4 to derive properties of the N=8 black hole potential and its critical points (attractors). This approach allows to study and compare the supersymmetry features of different solutions.
