Photon Production and Photon-Hadron Correlations in Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions
Charles Gale

TL;DR
This paper investigates real photon production and photon-hadron correlations in relativistic heavy ion collisions at RHIC, incorporating parton quenching effects and analyzing photon-triggered fragmentation functions within experimental kinematic ranges.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive calculation of photon production and correlations that accounts for parton energy loss, extending previous one-body observable analyses.
Findings
Photon production rates consistent with experimental data
Photon-hadron correlation functions show significant medium effects
Parton quenching impacts photon-triggered fragmentation functions
Abstract
We calculate the production of real photons in relativistic nuclear collisions at RHIC, consistently with the quenching of fast partons. We go beyond one-body observables, and evaluate photon-triggered fragmentation functions, in the kinematical window corresponding to that of experimental measurements.
